Wapiti Energy, formed in 2001, is a privately held company focused on developing and producing cleaner burning, energy dense natural gas in some of the most beautiful parts of the Rocky Mountains region of the United States. With operations in New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming, Wapiti seeks to work in partnership with private landowners, Bureau of Land Management, State and Federal Regulators, and many local stakeholders. We are proud to be significant employers and taxpayers in the counties of Colfax, NM, Duchesne and Carbon Counties, UT; and we stand proudly with all those trying to advance the wellbeing of these communities.

Wapiti Energy is committed to using the best practices and newest technologies available to accurately measure, reduce, and transparently report methane emissions. Our company has achieved Gold Standard Pathway recognition under the United Nations’ OGMP 2.0 Program, a framework focused on precise methane emissions reporting and emission reduction. This achievement highlights our initiative to prioritize environmental responsibility while ensuring reliable energy production.
